The Certification Process for the Professional Church
Educator or Youth Worker
As a professional educator and youth worker
there are ways you can nurture your gifts, affirm your ministry, and claim
your position as a valued person in the teaching ministry of the church.
Certification in church education can strengthen your ministry and
professional status.
Certification seeks
to enhance the quality of church education by
-
giving
denominational recognition to those engaged in the profession and practice
of educational ministry;
-
encouraging high
standards of preparation, personal assessment, and intentional growth;
-
providing the
community of faith with recognized leadership in educational ministry; and
(4) seeking to incorporate persons into a relationship of support and
accountability with other church educators.
Certification is a
professional credential for employed ordained and lay church educators. It
is offered by the Local Church Ministries and has been available since 1963.
